Self-exclusion and BetStop.
Self-exclusion is a formal request to be prevented from accessing wagering services for a defined period. playwestbets provides operator-level self-exclusion through the account. Registration on the National Self-Exclusion Register (BetStop) is industry-wide and prevents access to all Australian-licensed online and phone wagering operators for the chosen period.
Operator-level self-exclusion
Operator-level self-exclusion is activated from inside the account, under “Account features”. Choose a self-exclusion period — 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year or 5 years. Self-exclusion takes effect immediately upon confirmation.
- Period. Minimum 7 days, maximum 5 years.
- Immediate effect. Activation is immediate on confirmation; it does not depend on email processing.
- Cooling-off on cancellation. A self-exclusion can be revoked only within 24 hours of activation. After 24 hours it is irreversible until the chosen period ends.
- Balance. Any remaining balance is returned to the original source payment method in your name.
- Pending bets. Bets are settled where the event has already taken place; bets on events that have not yet occurred are voided and stakes refunded.
- Marketing. Marketing communications stop automatically.
- Reactivation. When the period ends the account is not reopened automatically; reactivation requires an active opt-in and identity re-verification.
Existing subscriptions and promotions
On self-exclusion, any marketing subscriptions are switched off and the account is removed from promotional audiences. Any account-holder benefits in progress lapse for the duration of the exclusion.
Family-initiated self-exclusion
A family member or other affected person may apply to have an account holder excluded where they are affected by that person's gambling. Such requests are assessed in accordance with our harm-minimisation obligations; contact support@playwestbets.com or Gambling Help Online for assistance.
