PLAYWEST PTY LTD (trading as playwestbets) collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Categories of personal information collected
- Identity — full legal name, date of birth, residential address, and the identity documents (such as driver licence, passport or Medicare details) used to verify you.
- Account — username, account number, verification status, deposit-limit and self-exclusion settings, and account preferences.
- Financial — payment-instrument metadata, deposits, withdrawals, wagers, wins, losses and balances.
- Behavioural — wagering activity, markets viewed, responsible-wagering interactions and patterns relevant to harm minimisation and risk.
- Technical — IP address, device and browser identifiers, geolocation signals, and cookie and similar tracking-technology data.
- Communications — emails, support enquiries, complaints and related correspondence.
Purposes of use and legal basis
- To open and operate your account and provide wagering services (performance of our contract with you).
- To verify your identity and age (Customer Identification Rules under the AML/CTF Act 2006 (Cth)).
- To meet anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing obligations, including transaction monitoring and reporting (AML/CTF Act 2006 (Cth)).
- To check the National Self-Exclusion Register (BetStop) and apply self-exclusion outcomes (Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (Cth)).
- To meet licence conditions and respond to regulators (Gambling Regulation Act 2003 (Vic) and our VGCCC licence).
- To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, collusion and integrity matters (legitimate operational and integrity interests; cooperation with Sport Integrity Australia and controlling bodies).
- To support harm minimisation and responsible wagering (National Consumer Protection Framework).
- To process payments, deposits and withdrawals (performance of contract).
- To send service communications and, where you have opted in, direct marketing (APP 7; your consent).
- To handle complaints and disputes and to comply with other legal obligations.
Disclosure to third parties
Personal information may be disclosed to the following categories of recipient:
- Regulators — AUSTRAC, the VGCCC, ACMA and the OAIC.
- Racing controlling bodies — such as Racing Victoria, Racing NSW, Greyhound Racing NSW and Harness Racing Victoria.
- Sports controlling bodies and Sport Integrity Australia.
- Law enforcement agencies.
- Payment processors and financial institutions.
- KYC and identity-verification vendors.
- Cloud and IT infrastructure providers.
- BetStop and the Department of Social Services.
Direct marketing (APP 7)
Direct marketing is sent only to account holders who have opted in, and may be delivered by email, SMS, push notification or in-account message. Every marketing message includes a simple opt-out, and you can change your marketing preferences at any time inside your account or by contacting our Privacy Officer. Individuals registered on the National Self-Exclusion Register (BetStop) are automatically removed from all marketing.
Data retention
Personal information is retained only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Identity and transaction records are retained for the period required by the AML/CTF Act 2006 (Cth) — generally seven years after the account is closed — after which information is securely destroyed or de-identified.
Security (APP 11)
playwestbets takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include access controls, encryption in transit, network and application security measures, staff training and vendor due diligence.
Data breach notification
playwestbets complies with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Where an eligible data breach is likely to result in serious harm, affected individuals and the OAIC are notified as soon as practicable.
Children's privacy
Wagering services are restricted to persons aged 18 or older. playwestbets does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Where such information is identified, it is deleted.
Cookies
playwestbets.com uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. Some of this data (such as IP address and device identifiers) is personal information under the APPs. See the Cookies notice for details and how to manage your choices.

Access and correction
Customers may request access to, or correction of, personal information by writing to our Privacy Officer at privacy@playwestbets.com.

Privacy complaints are first directed to the Privacy Officer. Unresolved matters may be escalated to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
